A postage stamp, an illustrated cover and a special postmark were issued on 30 March by the post office administration in Bulgaria on the occasion of the round anniversary of the national Olympic Committee. Although at a venerable age, this institution is, nevertheless, 27 years younger than the Bulgarian Olympic movement. This country is one of the 13 nations that sent their representatives to the first modern Olympic games held in 1896 in Athens.

Artistic designer of this issue is Maya Buykliiska, who has chosen a stylized male figure with a torch in his hand for the stamp representation, executed in the range of blue-yellow colours. Depicted are also the five Olympic circles.

This postage stamp has a face value of 120 levs and a circulation of 500 thousand pieces.
