Ivan Neikov Neikov

Ivan Neikov was born on April 17, 1955 in Haskovo.
He is a law graduate from the Kliment Ohridski University of Sofia, a lawyer and a labour code expert.
1981 - 1990 - law inspector at the National Labour Directorate.
Between 1985 and 1993 he was member of task forces responsible for drafting the Labour Code and its amendments, as well as for elaborating the Act on Collective Bargaining and Collective Labour Disputes.
1990 - 1992 - head of the Legal Department of the Confederation of Independent Trade Unions in Bulgaria /CITUB/ from its beginning.

1992 - 1997 - CITUB Deputy Chairman; workers' delegate at the 79th, 80th, 81st and 82nd   Sessions of the International Labour Conference and Vice President of the CITUB


1993 - 1997 - appointed head of the CITUB delegation to the National Council for Tripartite Co-operation;
1997 - Minister of Labour and Social Welfare in the Stefan Sofiyanski government; Minister of Labour and Social Policy in the UdDF cabinet of Ivan Kostov.
He is among the few ministers who retained their positions in the new Kostov cabinet after the December 1999 reshuffle of the government.

2005 - member of Sofia City Council.
Married, with two sons.
